Refreshing Strawberry Margarita for Two

refreshing strawberry margarita for two - featured image

A bright, tangy, and smooth strawberry margarita perfect for summer evenings, made with fresh strawberries, lime, tequila, and a splash of orange liqueur. This easy cocktail recipe serves two and comes together in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 3 ounces (90 ml) tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Coarse salt for rimming glasses (optional)
  • Lime wedges and strawberry slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rims of two cocktail glasses. Dip the rims into coarse salt spread on a small plate to coat evenly. Set aside to dry slightly.
  2. Place the hulled strawberries in a blender or food processor. Pulse until smooth but still slightly textured. Pour the puree into a cocktail shaker.
  3. Add 3 ounces tequila blanco, 1 ounce triple sec, 1 ounce fresh lime juice, and 1 tablespoon agave syrup to the shaker.
  4. Fill the shaker halfway with ice cubes, secure the lid tightly, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until chilled.
  5. Fill the prepared glasses with fresh ice cubes. Strain the cocktail mixture evenly into each glass.
  6. Garnish each glass with a lime wedge and a slice of strawberry on the rim.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Do not over-puree strawberries to keep a slightly pulpy texture. Shake vigorously but not too long to avoid over-dilution. Rim glasses with coarse salt for balance; add chili powder to salt for a spicy twist. Prepare garnishes and rim glasses while pureeing strawberries to save time. Serve immediately for best taste and chill.
