fresh apple nachos recipe - featured image

A quick and easy snack featuring crisp apple slices drizzled with warm peanut butter and topped with crunchy granola, perfect for last-minute cravings or a light dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large fresh apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) peanut butter (creamy or natural)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (60 g) crunchy granola
  • Cinnamon (optional, for dusting)
  • Chopped nuts (optional, walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and dry the apples. Core and thinly slice them into rounds or wedges about 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick.
  2. Spread the apple slices evenly on a large serving plate, overlapping like a fan or scattered like tortilla chips.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the peanut butter with honey or maple syrup. Stir gently until smooth and slightly runny. Alternatively, microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring between each until pourable but not hot.
  4. Using a spoon, drizzle the warm peanut butter mixture over the arranged apple slices in thin, even streams.
  5. Sprinkle crunchy granola evenly over the top. Add chopped nuts or a light dusting of cinnamon if desired.
  6. Serve immediately to keep apples crisp and granola crunchy.

Notes

Warm peanut butter gently to avoid scorching. Add granola just before serving to keep it crunchy. To prevent apple slices from browning, toss with lemon juice if prepping ahead. For a thinner drizzle, add a splash of warm water or milk to peanut butter.
