A quick and easy peach cobbler dump cake made with canned peaches and yellow cake mix, perfect for busy nights and last-minute desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches in syrup, drained slightly but retaining some syrup
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick or 113 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional but recommended)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drain peaches lightly, leaving a couple tablespoons of syrup for moisture. If using fresh peaches, toss slices with lemon juice and a teaspoon of sugar.
  3. Arrange peaches evenly in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour in melted butter and vanilla extract. Stir until crumbly and evenly moistened without overmixing.
  5. Sprinkle the cake topping evenly over the peaches without pressing down.
  6. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and peach juices bubble around the edges. Tent with foil if topping browns too fast.
  7. Cool slightly for 10-15 minutes before serving to thicken and meld flavors.

Notes

Use canned peaches in syrup for juiciest results. Melt butter before mixing to ensure a crisp topping. Tent with foil if topping browns too quickly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for best experience. Can substitute gluten-free cake mix and dairy-free butter for dietary needs.
