  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream (can be substituted with extra milk)
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Optional sugar glaze: 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar mixed with 2 tablespoons milk and a dash of vanilla

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) casserole dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Slice each refrigerated cinnamon roll into quarters or halves and arrange evenly in the baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces, pressing gently to help them absorb the custard.
  5. Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove cover and bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden brown and custard is set but still soft in the center.
  7. Let the casserole cool for 10-15 minutes before drizzling the optional sugar glaze over the top.
