  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Trim the stem ends and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves from the Brussels sprouts. Slice each sprout in half lengthwise for even cooking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the halved sprouts with 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, and ½ teaspoon garlic powder until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.
  4. Arrange the sprouts in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cut side down if possible. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if needed.
  5. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket or tossing the sprouts halfway through cooking to ensure even browning. Add 2-3 more minutes if needed for extra crispiness, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  6. While the sprouts cook, make the balsamic glaze by simmering ¼ cup balsamic vinegar and 1 tablespoon honey in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until thickened and coats the back of a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  7. Transfer the crispy sprouts to a serving bowl and drizzle the balsamic glaze on top. Sprinkle red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately.
