  • 8 slices bacon, cooked until crispy and chopped
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 packet (about 1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream, full-fat preferred
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh chives or green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8 minutes. Drain on paper towels and chop once cooled.
  2. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker and season lightly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, ranch seasoning, and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until smooth.
  4. Pour the creamy sauce evenly over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  5. Sprinkle half of the chopped bacon on top of the sauce layer, reserving the rest for garnish.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or on HIGH for 2–3 hours until chicken reaches 165°F and is tender enough to shred.
  7. Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks or shredding claws and mix well with the sauce.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining bacon and additional shredded cheddar cheese on top. Close the lid and let it melt for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of chicken broth or water before shredding. Crisp the bacon ahead of time for best texture. Soften cream cheese before mixing to avoid lumps. Can be made dairy-free with substitutions. Chicken thighs can be used for juicier meat.
