A warm, inviting drink combining bold coffee, sweet Irish whiskey, and lightly whipped cream, perfect for cozy moments and holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (240 ml) freshly brewed hot coffee (medium-dark roast recommended)
  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) Irish whiskey (e.g., Jameson)
  • 12 tsp brown sugar (dark brown sugar preferred)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream, lightly whipped
  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew 8 oz (240 ml) of hot, freshly brewed coffee and pour into a heatproof glass mug.
  2. Stir in 1 to 2 teaspoons of brown sugar while the coffee is still hot until dissolved.
  3. Add 1.5 oz (45 ml) of Irish whiskey and stir to combine.
  4. Lightly whip 1/4 cup (60 ml) of heavy cream until soft peaks form, creamy and smooth but pourable.
  5. Hold a spoon upside down just above the coffee surface and gently pour the cream over it to float on top without stirring.
  6. Optionally dust with a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Use freshly brewed hot coffee to dissolve sugar properly. Whip cream to soft peaks for the best floating layer. Float cream gently over the back of a spoon to maintain layers. Adjust sugar and whiskey to taste. For dairy-free, substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut cream.
