This cinnamon roll apple pie combines the sticky sweetness of cinnamon rolls with tender, caramelized apple filling for a show-stopping fall dessert that’s easy to make and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (about 12 oz) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough (save the icing for later)
  • All-purpose flour (for rolling out the dough)
  • 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease your pie dish.
  2. Dust your work surface with flour and roll out the cinnamon roll dough into a thin sheet. Cut the dough into rounds (or leave them as-is) and press them into the pie dish to form a crust, ensuring the bottom and sides are fully covered.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
  4. Pour the apple filling into the cinnamon roll crust, spreading it evenly.
  5. Use any extra cinnamon roll dough to create decorative pieces for the top of the pie.
  6. Place the pie in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling.
  7. Once the pie has cooled slightly, drizzle the reserved cinnamon roll icing over the top. For extra flair, add caramel sauce or chopped nuts.

Notes

For best results, use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. Allow the pie to cool slightly before slicing to help the filling set. Add caramel sauce, chopped nuts, or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
